Here are some common questions and answers regarding this project.
Q: Wouldn't having many people working on the translation make the result inconsistent?
A: It probably would, and for this reason, some groups prefer to have only one person working on it, which is understandable. I (Ranmafan) believe that at this point the priority should be to release a playable draft as quickly as possible.
However, note that this project only aims to complete a rough (but playable) draft. Once (and if) that is done, the draft will likely have to go through many stages of editing (likely by a single person) before being anywhere near a "quality" release.
Q: I'd rather wait however long it takes until a quality, mirror moon-like release.
A: While it might be a wise choice in the end, you'll be waiting much longer than you think. Note that the game has been published back in 2005, no one has any concrete indication of how much real translation progress has been made, let alone TLC/editing. Completing it alone would require a tremendous amount of dedication for years to come...
Q: I want to help. Where do I start?
A: See the Fate/Hollow_Ataraxia:Todo for specific things that need to be done.
Q: I'd love to help, but I don't know any Japanese!
A: There's plenty to do besides just translating text. See the Fate/Hollow_Ataraxia:Todo for details.
Q: I want to translate F/HA into a language other than English. Can you help?
A: Possibly, at least on the technical side. All the tools (such as the ks2po script) aim to be "language-neutral". The translation database also supports multiple languages per one source file.
Q: I want to translate a particular scene, but I'm confused by all these files!
A: What you see is essentially how the translation will have to be organized in order to insert it back into the game.
If you want to find a particular scene, see the Translation interface guide.
Q: This FAQ sucks. How do I get more answers?
A: Use the "discussion" link, or just add your questions. Alternatively, see this thread on the mirror moon forums.
