[edit] Using the translation interface
[edit] About
The translation interface is based on the Entrans project. The engine was modified slightly to support UTF-8 encoded filenames and strings, as well as to fix a few other small bugs.
[edit] Structure
All strings to be translated are organized into files that have the same name and order as the original files in the game. Each string can have so-called "suggestions" - possible translations. Submitting a suggestion is equivalent to voting on it.
[edit] Validation process
Once a suggestion is submitted, the line of text will be "validated" by a different person to ensure the translation at least looks correct. The most popular suggestions will be easiest for the validator to see.
[edit] Downloading .po files
If you want to translate a large chunk of text offline, download the .po file. The file will include only translations marked as "validated". The files can be edited with, for example, Poedit or, if you're desperate, by hand with any regular text editor (like Notepad). If you are editing them by hand, keep in mind that you have to follow the same format and quote all special characters in a particular way.
[edit] Searching
You can search within the original (i.e. Japanese) text. If you want to find out which file a particular scene belongs to, search for a key phrase, then click on "More details" to get the link.
[edit] Translating individual scenes
This is not really recommended, but if you really want to translate a scene completely by yourself, find the file that you want to translate and edit the Fate/Hollow_Ataraxia:Assigned_scenes page. Once I notice, I'll (Ranmafan) remove the file from the database to prevent it from being edited while you're working on it.
