ダビデ
ヘブライ語で『愛された者』の意。
その名の由来となったダビデは、
古代イスラエルの２代目の王であり、
エルサレムを都に定め、イスラエルを統一し、
イスラエルの最盛期を築いたとされている。

ダビデ王は戦略に優れ、あまりの強さに
魔術的なものを感じた秘術師達は、
ダビデ王の軍旗は『悪魔召喚の呪符』に違いない
と考えた。
そのダビデが旗印にしたのが『ダビデの星』。
なお、イスラエルでは危険から身を護る
紋章であると考えられており、
その正射影が国旗の図案に採用されている。

日本でもこのダビデの星は六芒星といわれ、
伊勢神宮の紋章としても知られている。
このダビデの星と真逆の意味を持つのが
五芒星——『ソロモンの星』。
