Sharin no Kuni:Error Reports

Warning: I probably won't make another patch for Sharin so reporting further errors is likely a waste of time.

This is the Error Reporting page for Sharin no Kuni, released by sunflowe- err, TLWiki.

Typos, weirdly worded lines, technical errors such as crashes/badly displayed lines should go here.

Reports should have the entire line, and ideally the script file in which it occurs in (001.ks etc.) Script files can be located by entering the line in question on the search box to the left. (Thanks Tinfoil+Blick!)

Note that previously reported errors are in the archives, and that by the very nature of error reporting, you are likely to encounter spoilers. Redundant reports do not present a problem, so do not worry about them.

001.ks "I took a rather ornate ivory pipe out of it and raised to my lips." Missing an "it" after raised.

Technical BooBoos

In end_sachi.ks, an error message shows up after the line "The sound of Sachi exchanging greetings with one of the guests snapped me out of my reverie." Then it shows the next picture and doesn't move on from there.

same happens to me, with 1.01. The ending is just broken.

When they receive the letter from Touka's father, Kyouko an her shout at the same time and this [1] happens. The text is displayed normally again after that sentence. --KViN 14:28, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Install Japanese fonts. Your game is using the wrong font. Make sure you are running it with Applocale or (preferably) Japanese locale, as well.

I installed the game with the regional settings of my computer in japanese language format and I even use microsoft applocale for installing the game.The game was installed successfully. Now I extracted the english patch and copy it to the game directory. The files were the xp3 patch and the sharin.exe. Then I run the sharin.exe file but it produces an error in some japanese langauge. I also tried the syarin.exe it still produces an error.I think it is looking for a dll file that starts with a "k--.dll" or something.Eitherway, I could not make sense of the name of the file because it has a japanese text along with it. can you help me with these please.

I had this same problem.

I have a similar error, but when I start sharin.exe (or syarin.exe, for that matter) I get a script window with blue background, an errorbox without any text in it and I can't start the game. The logfile says: 05:33:33 文法エラーです(syntax error, unexpected T_SYMBOL, expecting ")") at line 4025 05:33:33 不正な文字です : '' at line 4025 05:33:33 文法エラーです(syntax error, unexpected T_SYMBOL, expecting ")") at mainwindow.tjs(4025)

I swear I saw some missing words (didn't see?) in the NVL-mode parts in 058.ks, but the script files seem to have the missing words.

Keeping in mind that the likelihood of a new patch ever is low, I thought I'd mention that on the line below from chapter 2, only Mana's voice plays in-game, although looking at the string it seems like it should be both hers and Sachi's.

I was too lazy to report everything on this page, so I just fixed them all in the actual scripts. Didn't notice the giant "Warning" here about uselessnes until just now for entirely that reason.
