雪さんはメイド
     Yuki-san is a maid
透矢「ちょっと待ってくれないか。メイドって召使いみたいなものだよね？」
Touya「Could you wait a moment? So by “maid”, you mean something like a servant?」
雪「ええ、そうですね」
Yuki「Yes, that’s right.」
　雪さんは悪びれた様子もなく、そう答えた。
 Yuki-san no longer had a timid appearance, and answered as such.
透矢「あの…あんまり自信ないんだけど、メイドなんていうのは今どき…それとも、家政婦さんだと思えばいいのかな？」
Touya「Um... I don’t have that much self-confidence about this, but nowadays something like a maid means... or, should I think of you as a housekeeper?」
雪「いいえ。雪は家政婦ではありません。メイドです」
Yuki「No. Yuki is not a housekeeper. I am a maid.」
透矢「そ、そう。それって何か違うの？」
Touya「I, I see. Then it’s something different?」
雪「家政婦の方というのは、主に家事を職業としている方のことです。そこには契約がありますし、契約以上のことをする必要はありません。契約は賃金という保証によって成され、家政婦の方はその賃金を得るために契約し、働くわけです」
Yuki「The chief occupation of a housekeeper is doing housework. There is a contract, and they need not do anything outside the contract. The contract is made with a guarantee of pay, and in order to obtain this pay, the housekeeper makes the contract- thus, they work.」
透矢「む、難しいね」
Touya「Tha, that’s difficult.」	
雪「つまり、家政婦さんのしていることは、労働なんですよ。家事という業務をこなして賃金を得る、お仕事です」
Yuki「In other words, what a housekeeper does is work. They handle the business of housework and obtain pay, so it is work.」
透矢「メイドさんは、違うの？」
Touya「A maid is different?」
雪「雪は、透矢さんによろこんでいただきたいだけなんです。労働というよりもご奉仕になりますね」
Yuki「The only thing Yuki would like is to please Touya. I serve, rather than work.」
　雪さんは、なぜか誇らしげだった。
 Yuki-san seemed proud for some reason.
　他の同業者の意見はどうなのか知らないけど、彼女の中で、メイドっていうのは、そういうものらしい。
 Though I don’t know how other people in the same profession view it, she truly seems like the definition of a maid.
雪「おわかりいただけましたか？」
Yuki「Did you understand?」
透矢「うーん、なんとなく。でも、ご主人様はやっぱりどうかと思うよ」
Touya「Y-yeah, somehow or other. But for some reason, I still can’t think of myself as a master.」
雪「普段は、透矢さんと呼ばせていただきますからご安心を。ご主人様というのは、形の問題なんです。どうしてもお気に召さないようでしたら、旦那様とお呼びしますけど」
Yuki「Usually, calling you Touya-san would give me peace of mind. Saying ‘master’ is just a question of style. Though if it does not please you, I can call you ‘sir’.」

透矢「そういう問題じゃないって」
Touya「I don’t have any problems with that sort of thing.」

雪「でしたら、透矢様ですとか」
Yuki「In that case, shall I call you Touya-sama?」
透矢「透矢さんでお願い」
Touya「Touya-san, please.」
雪「そうですか…」
Yuki「Is that so...」
　なんだか、ものすごく残念そうな顔をされてしまった。
 Somehow, she was making an incredibly disappointed face.
