Period:Walkthrough

The game works on a point system. Some decisions (not all of them matter) will add points to one or more characters. (Only one decision will actually subtract points...) At the end of the common beginning of the game (at the beginning of summer, after the Foundation Festival), the character with the most points will determine which of the three different summer events you get - Asahi, Miyu and Tsuzumi; or Kohane, Aoi and Koto; or Rin and Yukina. You spend the summer with those girls (and some extras who you can't get anymore), and at the end of the summer event the girl with the most points is the one whose route you're on for the rest of the game.

One thing to keep in mind is that you can't get Asahi or Koto at the beginning of the game. To open Asahi's route, you have to finish Miyu and at least two other girls. Koto has to be done last.

Yukina can be a little tricky because there's only one choice in the beginning that gives her any points. There are two ways to get on her route - either make decisions such that no one else gets any points (except for a couple of mandatory points), in which case she'll barely squeak by; or get enough points for Rin that you get on her and Yukina's summer, then immediately switch over and start going for Yukina. The second method actually fits the storyline.
