[edit] IRC Channel ?
Hey there. Im pretty new at this kind of stuff and all, wanted to know wether there is some kind of irc channel or something like that. Would help ;) Still having many questions while translating this. 夜 03:38, 6.01.09 (GMT+1)
We could start one. I can't find the others by their handle on rizon or synirc. I'm guessing there isn't a channel. Kenn 01:32, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Some suggestions as to which server? irc.shrinemaiden.net as the TLWIKI's chan is already there? But of course, would be nice if somebody else made an suggestion, too. 夜 17:18, 12.01.09 (GMT+1)
WindOwl said there is no Air IRC Channel. So for now I'm on irc://irc.shrinemaiden.net/air 夜 22:12, 12.01.09 (GMT+1)
I generally only dwell on rizon, so... I recommand rizon. =D Kenn 07:26, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Never use rizon, and my nick is taken :( You will find me on rizon under the name of yakusho in channel air. But will be on shrinemaiden nonetheless, cause the wikis chan is there. ;) 夜 16:05, 13.01.09 (GMT+1)
- Hiya, just a heads-up: you can feel free to undo/redo any of the retranslation I did if you feel the consistency is necessary (I tried, really... I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so it’s never going to be ‘good enough’ as far as I’m concerned ^_^; ...though, you may notice how ultra-consistent what I did generally is. I was trying to keep the flavor of the original, but durn it if that isn’t a hard way to do it). Unfortunately, I’m going to have to be on hiatus (personal life @#$% just plain sucks), and I do wish whoever does take things up the very best. I’ll try to lurk if you do come across something you don’t think you can handle, though. Not saying I know all the answers or anything, but if you ask, I’ll probably have answers.
- Oh, and just so you’re informed, my general knowledge of English comes from my far and wide lifelong experiences with all sorts of American English, which is why some peculiarities in the translated speech is kind of my own (to match up with the casualness of the Japanese, of course). Wherever I did touch, I put Misuzu and Yukito in a more standard "Midwestern" way, whereas Haruko with her Kansai-type dialect is more "Southern". If you don’t want to conform to that, I suggest you change it so that characters don’t go dialectically schizophrenic in the middle of the game, at the very least....
- ...and that’s all I can think of for now. Peace! -ASP 21:02, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Hey there. Will try, but I think somebody will have to edit many of my lines, since english is not my first language and often Im not sure how to write more formal or things like that ;) Will mark them though, so that they are easier to edit. But Im still not sure how to translate Harukos dialect into english. 夜 23:51, 13.01.09 (GMT+1
[edit] Haeleth
Thanks is because Haeleth is not participating in the hacking for Air; rather, he contributed a tool available for such a purpose. The tool wasn't made specifically for this purpose; would you credit the creators of Windows every time you did something, because it allowed you to accomplish something? [edit] American vs. British English
I'm American, so my vote is for American English. I run the wiki so my vote should definitely count for more, yeah? Maybe? Please? :( Moogy (talk) 06:00, 12 November 2007 (PST)
Hmm... Honestly speaking, I think British English would be better for a release, cause I think most people outside of America learn British English. Unfortunately, I vote for American English. Personal preference and all. --Jumpyshoes 14:47, 12 November 2007 (PST)
I say American English, and Shu should die um well, mostly I've seen American English, and I'd like to add that the TOEFL tests American English. Lily (talk) 20:39, 14 November 2007 (PST)
Awesome! Then go for American English! I actually want American English. *conveniently ignores the "die" --Jumpyshoes 04:29, 15 November 2007 (PST)
In many cases, American English words are shorter than their British English counterparts (e.g. "color" vs. "colour", "favorite" vs. "favourite"), so perhaps using American English would give the patch a smaller filesize? Hiiragi Kagami 09:51, 17 February 2008 (PST)
American English. No BritfagBritish English.--DrmChsr0 aka hamsterling 11:57, 19 February 2008 (PST)
[edit] Un, uun
Why aren't people translating those words? I mean, it isn't hard (un=yep, uun=nope). Hiiragi Kagami 09:54, 17 February 2008 (PST)
[edit] Still Going Strong
Hey, I'm still in as an editor. 76.90.156.150 04:16, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Hey I wanted to sign up for editing and translations, but I'm still confused as to how the sign ups go. MagnificentNoodles reporting for duty =D
[edit] Japanese Scripts ?
Hello. I recently acquired a Japanese copy of AIR, and I've been playing it, using the scripts on the wiki to follow along with the plot. I've gotten to the end of SEEN0217 with Minagi (line 474), but there's dialogue after the series of ellipses with Misuzu and Haruko that doesn't seem to match up with any of the other already translated scenes that come later, and is immediately followed afterwards by SEEN0220. Is there more to SEEN0217 that hasn't been translated yet? (Or is that section a separate scene altogether?) Either way, how would I go about getting the Japanese script for it? I can read / parse decently, but it takes a lot of time, but as I still need furigana for most kanji, it would help if the Japanese text was already online somewhere, so I don't have to spend ages transcribing it from the game. I looked but I can't seem to find it on the wiki - did I miss it? If someone can point it out to me, I'd be happy to post my attempts at a translation for it.
Oh, yeah, and good job, everyone for the translations so far. I've really been enjoying the game! Leaf 04:32 PM 11 March 2009 (EST)
- Here you go. Moogy (talk) 00:00, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! Unfortunately, all I'm getting when I decompress the RAR file is gibberish - looks like some sort of Unicode problem. Any tips on how I can fix it? Leaf 11:11 PM 12 March 2009 (EST)

[edit] QC
Once this patch is ready for testing I'll gladly test it the whole way through. --- Hasteroth 19:23, 30 April 16, 2009 (GMT -5)

[edit] Helping out...
Hello...I'm not quite sure how all of this is supposed to work, but I would like to help edit (and possibly translate) when I can. I don't know if you need me to send in a list of my qualifications or not, but since you asked us to post if we wanted to help, that's what I'm doing. I went ahead and began making suggestions...I apologize if you wanted me to wait...feel free to ignore them if that's the case. Hopefully you will not mind me joining in and helping though...if you don't mind, then I will look forward to working with you in the future. ^_^

[edit] rlBabel?
Hello, I see that your patch doesn't use rlbabel, I don't know if you are planing to use it but I've compiled it with rbabel and the ke scripts of a voiced version an I got pretty good results, though I haven't tested much so I don't know if I broke something XD. --Henoji 00:30, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
